How to create an offline media plan in Excel

1. Locating the Excel Media Plan option

• Once you have set up the general campaign info, in the Eyeblaster Main Menu, click Campaigns / Campaign List. The Campaign List appears.
• Next either right-click on a Campaign and select ‘Export Media Plan’ from the popup menu or select a Campaign and click the ’Export Media Plan’ button on the horizontal taskbar above, then select the default setting - Export media plan template option.
  

2. Setup for export

• The Basic Setup box allows you to choose which Publishers will be exported to the Excel spreadsheet by adding them to your ‘Selected Publishers’ list (you should export all potential publishers being considered for the Media buy).
  
  You will see two lists of Publishers:In the left column list, ‘Available Publishers’ and ‘Selected Publishers’. Using the arrows, move the Publishers you wish to appear in the Excel media plan from the ‘Available Publishers’ list to the ‘Selected Publishers’ list.

Note:
Each Publisher in the Selected Publishers list will also have their sections, custom banner sizes and sales contacts previously entered in the Eyeblaster Platform exported to the Excel spreadsheet.

3. Export

• Click the ‘Export’ button at the bottom of the current window to produce an Excel spreadsheet. All the publisher names, sections and sales contact data from the Selected Publishers list will be exported and available within the Excel spreadsheet.

4. Add or append flights in the Excel document

• Within the newly-created Excel spreadsheet you can add flights to the current campaign. The fields marked with an asterisk are mandatory. After appending or adding new flights, you’re your file (the Validate button checks the updated data and marks the problematic entries in red).

5. Import the Excel Media Plan

• As you did with the export, go into the Eyeblaster system to you campaign list and either right-click on the campaign and select Import Media Plan from the popup menu, or select your campaign and click the Import Media Plan button on the horizontal taskbar above and select the Import media plan template option.
• Browse to find you saved file and click Import. The system will verify that the media plan is OK. If no error messages are displayed you can proceed as usual and the flights will be added for this campaign. If error messages appear, you can go to the Excel spreadsheet, fix the errors and upload the media plan again.
