"Our brief was to target 11-12 year olds with messages about the dangers of a junk food diet.
We created a character called Sick Rick, the personification of all that's evil about junk food and the industry that produces it. In the videos we produced for the ads, Sick Rick sets the kids some horrible challenges, all designed to simultaneously delight, disgust and educate children about what’s wrong with a junk food diet. The campaign is proving to be a great success with over 15m interactions in less than 2 weeks since going live."

Incorporate video quick and easy with Eyeblaster Workshop |
Get a head-start: Templates provide the framework for the most common ad formats. Everything you need is in one folder, freeing you up to focus on what you do best. The video templates make adding video a snap.
Test with your real video assets: Templates come with a sample FLV. Simply swap it out with your own by clicking on the video display component, open the component inspector and browse to your local machine. To see the video play as part of your ad project, just add it to your ad project tree as an additional asset.
Bundle & Upload: Take your pick of any of the video encoders, such as Sorenson Squeeze or the built in Flash encoder – and you are 100% independent in creating and controlling any type of video display.
You can go ahead and bundle this video ad together with the FLV right into the serving system.

The most common formats: polite vs. expandable banner
Expandable and Polite banners make up the vast majority of rich media ads Eyeblaster serves. In North America, more than half of all rich media ads are Expandable Banners, while Europe and APAC tend toward the Polite Banner. Both popular formats are fully supported by the Eyeblaster Workshop™ for Adobe Flash®.
Each format has unique advantages. The greater interactivity we see in the Expandable Banner chart below can be attributed to the fact that Expandable Banners are inherently a more interactive medium. Expandable Banners provide a larger canvas for advertisers to display their message, and the various panels allow for greater tailoring of that message. Polite Banners, which get their name from their ability to display larger files without weighing down the page, are great for showing multiple videos without delaying the publisher’s content.
The European measurements are substantially higher, due to a confluence of a number of factors, not the least due to the flexibility of European web sites in pushing the boundaries of publisher specifications. As for APAC and N.A., further study shows that the less-common format outperforms the more common one. In North America, Polite Banners drew more interaction than Expandable Banners, while APAC saw the opposite result.
Obviously, based on popularity with advertisers and elevated engagement with users, both of these ad formats are successful. This new data reinforces the fact that each ad format has its own advantages, and that variety has great value online.
